watched the movie first and thought it was mid but wanted to give the book a chance, believe it or not the movie is a vast improvement! most of the movie is forgettable but all of its most memorable scenes to me are new additions to the story. the book is boring and overwritten with no clear message or conclusion. i know "people stuck in the house" was a beloved trope when covid first happened but now we're all sick of it!!
