this was fine. short and pretty fast-paced. it just wasn't my vibe. I felt like I was dumped into an already established world and could have used some more explanation of what things were and how they worked. I can see how this sets up for subsequent books, but I just don't think I'm invested in the characters/story enough to continue reading. i'd probably like this better as a show.
