Banner in the Sky by James Ramsey Ullman

5.0

Guys, I've read a lot of really amazing books this year but this has to be one of my top favorites. Death-defying heights, heart-pounding action, and an underdog you can really get behind and cheer on. This story tests the limits of courage, endurance and trust. Not only that but there's some great themes of family and legacy. The writing style was flawless. I was hooked by the first page. It was so easy to lose myself in the story.

There wasn't much I didn't like but I can see where some might lose interest in all the climbing.

Now would I have ever taken an interest in this book if I hadn't first watched Disney's Third Man on the Mountain? Probably not. The movie was amazing and this book, in my opinion, tops it. If you enjoy a good clean adventure story that takes place high up in the Swiss Alps then I highly recommend this!
