Love at First Blizzard by Engrid Eaves

This held my attention despite having a bad cold - I had a good time reading, even despite misgivings over lines such as "I couldn't trust myself around her". Thankfully, the characters both had believable internalities, so the occasional worrisome line could easily be explained as more benign insecurities. I just wish the characters were a good 10 years older. There's something surreal about reading 21 and 24 year olds talk about their childhoods as if those were more than a few years ago, and talk about their adulthoods like they've been stuck in monotony for years. Perhaps that's as much personal taste as anything else, but it felt a little like the ages were chosen for the sake of making the characters more physically attractive to mainstream views. Similarly, Maksim's small waist felt out of place. A good amount of bulk is needed for a life in the mountains offgrid. Still, all of that was quite easy to read past. There was great chemistry happening between the characters, as well as interesting backstories.
