Ruthless King by Alison Aimes

4.0

Excellent series. Alison blended a lot of elements - mafia, omegaverse, dystopian, alien - and created a unique world that is unlike any alien romance I’ve read. It takes an excellent writer to be able to blend so many separate themes that are commonly books in and of themselves and merge them into a cohesive world building that doesn’t feel forced in any way.

Ruthless King starts out very bully so beware if that’s not to your liking but he does soften toward the FMC as the story evolves. The way he initially behaves toward Dahlia makes sense as it unfolds — life has hardened him and that carries over into how he treats her. Over time he does become soft for her and becomes her greatest defender and protector while never losing his ruthless edge. He is a mafia boss after all. It’s a great evolution of his character development.
