I feel like this is just the world for 20 somethings with mental illness at this point in late stage capitalist and "post" covid existence, relying on unstable relationships of all kinds and severe addictions just to get by.

we had some hard hitters in here, especially with Cassie and her unhealthy relationship with her mother explored at various points in the book which hit slightly too close too home- but was very necessary to understand why she works the way she does.

also had this banger in there for your viewing pleasure:
“I wonder what I’ll be like when I get there.”
“You’ll be you but better,” he said. “That’s how people grow. We push ourselves into new places and then we change.”
“But what if I don’t want to change?”
“You have to change someday, honey bun. We all do.”

ow out of 10, eldest d*ughters read and enjoy.
