The pacing of this is so appallingly slow that in the middle of chapter 13, after literally reading something else on my phone while listening, I looked up at my partner and said "has anything happened AT ALL in this chapter or are they still just talking about nothing in particular?" and he replied "nope, nothing, and now they're just going out to ice cream and arguing about it." Spoiler alert, I guess. Really disappointing, but this book didn't fulfill any of the things that I thought that it set out to do.
