This has been a rather unusual but very enjoyable read.
The main point that sets this story apart from others is: it has various shades of morally grey characters. Some are initially approached more from the dark end of the spectrum others more from the lighter end, but they eventually meet and mix somewhere around the middle, but also constantly diverging from it into both directions from there.
It also is a mixture of hopeful dystopian cyberpunk with a few steampunk-ish elements. Think more 'philosophically grounded MadMax', perhaps. Throw in a few DnD vibes for a bit of cosy, a tad of crazy, and a sprinkle of weird and wonderful.
I found the story to be rather captivating, very intriguing, and quite well-written.
I had no idea what I signed myself up for when I started reading this but I am very glad I did. This was not the last story from Nathan I've read, definitely not. Looking forward to exploring a few others of his stories that are on Kindle Unlimited.
