“‘You won’t ever know what that’s like, to love someone. In a way, I pity you. But I hope you starve.’”

TW/CW: Childbirth; Blood; Separation from child; Loss of limbs; Death; Underage child giving birth
Claire is in search of her son after he is stolen from her community. My favorite thing about this book is all the loose ends finally coming together. This is probably my favorite of the series, maybe a tie with The Giver, but some scenes felt like they dragged on and on and on. I think some parts could have been left out, but at the same time it was like I was on the journey with Claire. I also don’t like the fact the original community was artificially getting 14 year olds pregnant three times, and then around age 17 sending them to work in some other random part of the community. On another note, Trademaster is a very fitting name for that character when you really sit and think about it.
