Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
5.0
I went into this book having watched the movie. Although it had been nearly a decade since I saw the film I still remembered the twist and vaguely the plot. So I was happily surprised when started reading that the twist from the movie was revealed quite early into the book. I really enjoyed reading this. It is a book that was written for young, angry, white men, but that doesn't mean its importance is lost on everyone else. It is gritty, scary, gory, and highly atmospheric novel. It is not overly pretentious or preachy. It doesn't tell the reader what is right and what is wrong. It just spills everything out over its pages and lets the reader interpret it how they will. The writing style is unique and interesting. I'm looking forward to reading more from Chuck Palahniuk after reading Fight Club.
