I listened to the audiobook, the narrator was a man who didn't have much variety in his voices.

What really made me DNF was the pacing. MMC and FMC were insta love, went full sex (v, m and a) the first night, lik, damn, let's build a little tension first!

Then we learn MMC has 4 brothers. FMC meets up with 4 women, literally meets them at the airport, doesn't know their last names, and invites them to stay the night at her place (with MMC there) and I just know this is laying the ground work for the upcoming books. Just felt rushed and forced.

The sheriff of FMC's small town also has a crush on her and totally stalks her and forces a very uncomfortable kiss, twice. Idk if he's supposed to be killed or what his purpose in the book was, but it felt a bit shoe horned in.

Finally, MMC is an alien king that can shapeshift into a dragon. That is too many things; pick alien, king or dragon, maybe two things, but definitely not all three especially for such a short book.
