The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson
5.0
I really enjoyed this book, and I count it as even better than the first. It had me from the first page (I recall "...Dragon Tattoo" taking a while to catch my attention). I was ready for some of the annoyances of the last book, so they didn't bother me as much: all the similar people and place names, etc. I did a better job of paying attention and remembering details in this book. It actually took me a really long time to read, and I chalk that up to the fact that I wanted to take the time to remember the details. It made me want to, so it worked out.
I loved hearing more about Lisbeth. My biggest annoyance with the previous book is that it had so little to do with its eponymous character. I never got why it was named after her. We were just supposed to be intrigued with so little detail? It annoyed me. Now, with this installation, I truly feel that Lisbeth deserves her place as the title character. I dig her, I want to follow her, I want to know what happens.
And such an awesome last line. Truly, one of the best last lines of a book ever.
Kalle f-ing Blomkvist.
Indeed. :)
And, thanks a lot SAPL -- I have to wait FOREVER for the third book! I may end up going to buy it. :)
