His Good Boy by D. Dove

4.0

A very solid series! I decided to leave a review after finishing all of them. I went into it without knowing a thing and it was a great experience.

The plot is about Seth, a worker in a toy store that meets Clark and is asked to help him pick a toy for a relative. He does, and then Clark requests him to go to his house for further help. After that, they develop a relationship that turns out very sweet.

As someone who's familiar with this author, I actually expected something dark. I'm not the type to read the blurb (or at least not fully), and I don't need to read CWs. However, D. Dove is known for their dark stories (which I enjoy very much). Imagine my surprise when Clark didn't have ulterior motives, and actually just wanted to care for Seth. They're adorable, the initial tension had me holding my breath and it was delightful to see them going from strangers to a healthy couple.

I actually love the age gap and power imbalance element here. It works well for them and the reveal of them having a

was juicy. I thought it'd be something worse honestly lol. Overall, I love a good hurt/comfort, especially when one of them has a lot of money and provides for the other selflessly.
