After not liking the first book I was very worried to pick this up.
I think I am in the minority, but I found this so much more enjoyable than The Serpant and the Wings of Night.
Oraya felt less like a copy of any other MC for a fantasy book. I finally felt I got to know her. We also see some realistic character development.
Her relationship with Raihn is well paced and stopped feeling like insta love as it was in the beginning.
I'm glad we got both points of view.
If we could do without the consent "there she is" I would have even given it a 3.75.
