Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan

5.0

I loved this one so much! The way Kennedy Ryan portrayed a relationship that felt so real!

Yasmin and Josiah have been divorced for two years. They co-parent their children well, they still run their resteraunt business together, and still have strong feelings for each other. But there is a wide chasm of grief that separates them and keeps them from realizes that they still love each other.

I loved how Kennedy Ryan gave us flawed characters, tough subjects to explore, and a reconciliation that made me blush. I was rooting for these two, but also understood the real hurt and pain beneath their protective layers. Her exploration of child loss, grief, and the subsequent fear felt honest and vulnerable. I loved that she presented therapy as a helpful tool and removed the shame associated with it (especially when it comes to men).

As mentioned above, there are several trigger warnings, so sensitive readers, take care!
