The red, hooded sweater reminds me of Peter's red snowsuit in The Snowy Day.

This book is wonderful for talking with a child about what they are seeing. Denos writes only about what is happening in some of the windows. You could explore what is going on in the other houses/rooms by looking at the illustrations and coming up with ideas. You could also look for all the different things you can see.
