I read the more latest works of the author and wanted to read more. This was so different to her recent works, but equally rewarding. The novel isn't a 'whodunit' but 'whydunit', focusing on class divide, corruption, media literacy, and the ability for the rich to get away with the most deplorable of their deeds. It focuses on the internal struggles of each of its characters, portraying them as more human and less as warriors or heroes in search of truth or justice. It grounds the story in focusing on the banality of life as the most extraordinary stories unfold, how ideas of justice are shades of grey, and what it means to know the truth. Will think about it for a long time.
