Any potential this book had was severely overshadowed by the blatant fatphobic language and clear hatred of plus size folx. It is something I can not stand for, and while I try to get past minimal comments or fatphobic concepts in books, this one would not cut it out. What a waste of time.
One of Many Examples: "Stretching his blue work shirt taut, Phil's hairy white stomach had been visible. And his arse looked bulbous enough to suggest the feminine."
It is possible to describe plus size folx without such details that clearly reak of disgust. We don't need in-depth details about a plus-dize character that are clearly meant to CREATE disgust in the reader. Many times, Phil is criticized for "letting himself go" due to his size, and violence is even initiated at one point. I only got 1/3 of the way in, and that was more than enough.
