Pageboy by Elliot Page

Did not finish book. Stopped at 55%.
I will admit this story is not for me, this story was for Elliot who went through what he went through and the trauma he experienced as a person and as an actor. I am not one to rate memoirs because it is an extension of the person but good grief I don’t know who I would ever recommend this to. I really wanted to support Page but this was a hard miss. It was literally sad experience after sad experience after trauma after sad experience, there were no breaths to be taken. And I cannot read a book for 9+ hours dragging your feet on every terrible thing you have experienced. It is a terrible thing yes absolutely, but I am not the audience for this book.

And I can definitely see the issue with the nonlinear timeline, it is almost disconnected to a sense to where you’re not really sure where their at in their life and was this placed here to get a different reaction. I think i prefer a more linear story as far as watching the character growth and them overcoming their obstacles that kind of makes sense. But this was hip hopping all over.

I hope this story finds the right person to read and appreciate and find courage that you too can find the light.
