Monday's Not Coming by Tiffany D. Jackson

4.5

I'm definitely going to need a few days ( or weeks, months??) to process this book correctly. Holy crap. This book is really something special. It makes you want to scream, it breaks your heart, it gives you a little hope, and then breaks your heart some more. That ending? I'm like scrambling to fit all the pieces together and see what I missed and it just all falls into place. I think this book was so geniusly written and told. It takes a little bit to really wrap your mind around and even when you do, do you really? I think Tiffany D. Jackson did a wonderful job at giving you just the right amount to keep guessing and keeping you reading but not enough for you to get it all and not too little where the twist doesn't make sense. It all flows together so well. And the characters are just so beautifully written themselves. All so vivid and unique and you really feel that connection to Claudia and even Monday. I also so appreciate the learning disability rep. Claudia has Dyslexia and you really see the struggle with that. As someone who's always struggled with learning and learning disabilities it's so comforting to see that in books. Especially because it's so rarely done.
All and all, such a wonderfully done book and one I would highly, highly recommend!
