Wow. That was a crazy and unexpected ride, but in a good way. I had no background on this series before going into it and honestly I’m kind of glad I didn’t, I don’t know that I’d have borrowed it if I had. But if you want one here is just a glancing view at some themes you’ll find in Unnatural:

Authoritarian government that makes your love life their business and finable by law if you don’t choose ‘the natural way’. Folkloric rituals/past lives. Skeevy dudes written so accurately I cringed in real life. Betrayal, mystery.

If you couldn’t tell by the cover there is also cartoon nudity/sexual situations so if that bothers you it’s best to skip this one.

I think I will be borrowing the second volume soon!
