Jesse and I both so looked forward to reading this each night. It is imaginative, engaging, tender and thoughtful. The ending is sad and Jesse has a long cry after and then we read the flap of its sequel with some hope for a happier resolution.
Jesse has always preferred reference books over narrative ones. Only recently he started enjoying the Magic Treehouse series. But, this is the first book with a real character-driven story that he has loved.
