The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead
5.0
Okay, I've been avoiding to write this review for a few days now and I think I'm still not completely ready to write it. Honestly, I don't really know what to say. Did I enjoy the book? Yes. Am I sad that the series is over now? Of course. Will I miss the characters? Hell yes! I just ugh. I have so many feels and don't know what to do about them! I loved VA and was sad when Richelle finished it ... but then there was Bloodlines and I even enjoyed it more because it was about Adrian and the people who know me know how I feel about him - I love him to pieces, in case you don't know! - so ughhh. I'm extremely sad that the series if finished now, yes. I already miss Sydrian and I didn't even finish it that long ago ... what am I supposed to do?!?
But I need to be completely honest here. I gave it 5 stars because I'm a huge fan of the VA/Bloodlines universe and love all the characters - every one of them means something to me and therefore I just can't rate it any less ... I guess it wouldn't even matter what I'm reading as long as the characters are in the book. However, if I would have rated the book itself, without thinking about my love for the characters and all that, I think I would give it 4 (maybe add a 0.5) stars because I didn't feel it as much as the other books.
Don't get me wrong, it was amazing! I enjoyed all the action scenes and also the romantic/love scenes between Sydney and Adrian but all in all ... maybe I expected a bit more? Maybe knowing that it's the last book was the problem. Nevertheless I loved it. I don't know how this review makes sense to anyone but like I mentioned before I have so many feels and can't quite put them in words, I'm sorry.
Richelle brought back previous characters (almost everyone we met throughout these 11/12 books and I was so, so happy! Mostly about Dimitri and Rose because ugh, I missed them so much and didn't even realize it until they appeared in the book! I loved that they had a bigger part in this book and also that we get some new information ... some really shocking but actually quite awesome information! I was super surprised but looooved the idea of it! And also the new spirit revelation that is about to change a lot was an added detail and made me even more curious - that and some other unanswered questions also give me hope that someday in the future Richelle might write another spin-off with other characters - I don't even care who it is at this point ... I love them all!
And the ending ... oh my god. Thinking back to it now I absolutely adored it! At first I had a different one in mind - something that involved traveling around the world, sightseeing and all that, but the ending we got? Perfection. I just love how everything turned out great for ALL of the characters because they really deserve it - they've been through a lot and now they can finally relax and enjoy live. For now at least. :D
I'm going to end this here but let me mention one last thing: It was a pleasure. What a journey ... a brilliant ending to a fantastic series. *sigh* ♥ Everyone hesitating to read VA and/or Bloodlines should definitely give it a try - the characters are amazing and you'll definitely grow to love them as much as I did (hopefully) and in the end you'll find yourself wanting more and more. I hope this won't be the last I read about the world of VA/Bloodlines and these amazing characters! For now ... Bye, bye!

SO MANY FEELS. ♥
I actually need a night to think about EVERYTHING but I loved it so, so much. I'm just sad it's over ... at least for now. I still have hope that there might be another spin-off or whatever (thanks to Richelle's acknowledgments)! :D
