The Art of Scandal by Regina Black
4.0
I was hooked from the first paragraph, and that did not change as the story unfolded. I loved Regina’s writing, and I love that this book is based on a woman in her 30s. We immediately discover that Rachel’s husband is cheating on her and watch how that unfolds. This book is about family, class, race differences, self-discovery, and proof that it’s never too late to create the life you enclosed for yourself. And that, ultimately, the best revenge is to live your life authentically and unapologetically.
The chemistry between Rachel and Nathan is angsty and sultry. I was hooked reading to see how things would turn out between the two. You could feel how drawn they were to one another, yet they tried their best not to be together due to their age difference, familial obligations, and feeling as if they were from two separate worlds. Yet, readers get to witness how fate continues to connect them.
