Holy shit I can’t believe I’ve finished the series!!
This volume picks up right after the very abrupt ending of volume 7, which Is probably why I felt like the pace was a little strange. I think Jun Wu’s defeat was a little anti climactic, if I have to be honest. I think I was expecting it to take up most of the volume, but instead most of it revolved around the extra scenes. I really enjoyed the extras, even though I have to say I didn’t expect them to be so freaky lmao (but well, it’s Hualian after all soo).
Despite the fact that I knew that the series had a happy ending, I have to say that I still BAWLED when Hua Cheng had to temporarily leave Xie Lian. But it gave us such a beautiful scene of them, and it truly expressed how Hua Cheng will always come back for Xie Lian as his most devoted believer, and his beloved of course. In conclusion, I’m very happy with how the series ended!
