this book was wild. i was thinking just like the main character, expecting the expectable. but wow were there twists and turns. i didn’t know there were elements of magical realism so it really came as a surprise; similarly the horror aspect was well executed and i was afraid to go to sleep one night after reading this. hated a lot of the characters, but the way the author wrote about how they interacted made them hatable (if that makes sense).
