This fast-paced horror centers around determinism — the idea that the past, present, and future are all essentially the same since God is eternal and everything is already written.
It’s a strange idea, a captivating idea, but is also why this book falls just under 4 stars. First of all, the story very quickly moves between time periods to mirror this idea. I had some trouble keeping track. Second of all, spend about more than 5 seconds thinking about what this theory means and you will feel like you are smooth brained.
Overall, this was super creepy but a litttttllleee too ~high concept~.
