An overall improvement over the last book in the series, this story seems more like a fragmentary tale rather than a complete book. 

Tenar is a more compelling character than Ged was in A Wizard Of EarthSea. A fantasy story that lacks magic and dragons, but is strong in rebellion and coming of age.
