The Unwedding by Ally Condie
4.0
There were so many red herrings in this book.
I absolutely would recommend reading this on a rainy fall day, with a cup of tea or coffee and an optional pet by your side, because the majority of this book is set during rainy weather. Severe rainy weather, in fact.
This weekend was supposed to be Ellery and her husband Luke’s twentieth anniversary, but when he divorces her, Ellery eventually decides to go without him. Coincidentally, there’s a big wedding happening at the resort she’s staying at, and after crashing an event, disaster strikes. She stumbles upon the groom’s body in the pool.
As the storm closes the guests in, Ellery and her new friends take it upon themselves to investigate what’s going on. And the murderer may be closer than they seem….
While it was a slow paced read, I did find myself truly enjoying it. Allie Condie’s prose has grown since her Matched days!
