I can't, in good faith, read a book by an author who has been publicly transphobic (who is still alive and thus benefitting financially from me reading the book). An author I admire and an old student of Adichie's, Akwaeke Emezi (they/them), has spoken out against her transphobic comments a while back, and now that I know this - I will never pick up an Adichie book again.
