In the Wake of the Wicked by V.B. Lacey

4.75

I’ve been really looking forward to reading In The Wake of The Wicked and wow it didn’t disappoint. For a book over 600 pages and a standalone of Interconnected stories it moved at such an amazing pace and so fast, the writing is absolutely beautiful and I loved how immersed in the story I became.

The worldbuilding is done so well and easy to understand with clear pictures of every detail and surrounding and as for the trials these were epic, I always love reading books with trials and how imaginative and engaging they can be and these were exceptional.

As always I love a strong and independent fmc and Rose is certainly that but at the same time she is so relatable with lots of character growth from start to finish. The slow burn no spice romance between her and Leo was so so beautiful and filled with all the tension, angst and yearning. I always love a good slow burn and this one has it all their chemistry together was so so good!

If your looking for a fantasy with no spice romance, relatable characters, epic trials and amazing worldbuilding then you will love this!
