The Game of Love and Death by Martha Brockenbrough

5.0

I could count on my two hands the number of books who've rocked me loose of the world for the time that I read. And this story, simple, beautiful, honest, has done just that.

This is at its heart a love story, but perhaps not between who you'd think. Tenderly written and fantastically researched, historical Seattle also became on of the many characters I came to love.

I am not a romance reader. I don't generally lean toward stories that might just break my heart, but I'm so glad I picked up this story.
