I was provided an ARC copy in return for my honest review.
I do love an historical MM romance. Normally I lean towards war-related ones, so this was a nice change of pace. The story follows Floyd, a miner who has a heartbreaking past, and Oliver, the unwilling heir to his father's rail road business. Their story was sweet, with a little angst mixed in.
Now, I don't like 3rd person POVs as a rule, so for me that was where this one lost marks. It leaned into telling rather than showing in some sections, though this wasn't throughout the whole story.
The spice was low, but I felt it fit this story; especially as it's much more a slow burn and feels like we were following Floyd's journey to opening himself up to love again.
This was a lovely story to read and I'm very glad to have had to opportunity to do so I'm advance.
