Deception is the second book in the Defiance trilogy. The story follows 16 year old Rachel Adams. Her father and uncle are both dead and she is set on avenging them. Her boyfriend, Logan McEntire, is leading a group of survivors from their town of Baalboden in search of a safe city to call home after their town is destroyed. The group has problems on the trip and believes someone from their group has betrayed them.

I was so excited to see what happened in next Rachel’s and Logan’s story. The author does an excellent job of weaving together both Rachel’s and Logan’s POVs. This book also had me crying at several different points.
