This series is just incredible. Very heartbreaking and raw, but that’s partially what makes it incredible. It’s just written SO well. As the middle book, this one took a while to get going. Though there was a plot and definitely some very tense moments, it slowed down in the first half or so to focus more on the characters’ backstories. It provided a lot of valuable context for who they’ve become and what has shaped them, which makes everything I’ve read already and everything I will read in the third book that much more meaningful. Can’t wait to pick up the final book, requested it from the library already!!
