I loved The Atlas Six, so I wanted to love this book so bad. Unfortunately, the plot crawled through the first half, and I only became reinvested in the characters around 2/3 of the way through, when they finally stopped moping around the house and plot started to actually happen. Callum, despite being my least favorite character in the last book, was wildly entertaining this time. I started craving his perspective because the others were, with some exceptions, pretty dull. I will also say that I do not understand what's going on with Gideon ever, and as hard as I tried, I still do not care. He is so boring, and I have no idea why the other characters care about him at all. Some of the romantic relationships felt a bit forced this time as well, but I'm excited for the Tristan-Libby slowburn to finally give us the sustenance we deserve in the next book.
I didn't dislike this book, but I was disappointed that it didn't grab me like book one.
