The Girl Who Smiled Beads: A Story of War and What Comes After by Clemantine Wamariya

5.0

Absolutely fantastic. Probably the most amazing text on the experience of war and being a refugee, on the dehumanising nature of both, on how to remain and become your own person after trauma, and on the importance of stories, fairytales, and the little things in life that are crucial to being human.
