The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
4.0
I'm so glad I hadn't read the synopsis for this book in months and had only the vaguest ideas of what it was about because the provided synopsis, while not necessarily WRONG, completely focuses on the wrong aspects of the story. This book is about the titular night circus, and its story is told by telling the stories of other characters. Those stories slowly weave together in a way that I can only describe as languid and romantic (not so much in the romance genre way but because the author describes the world in idyllic and romantic ways). This is only a step or two removed from literary fiction, so keep that in mind if you decide to pick it up.
It's really wonderful and beautiful, and I hope to reread it soon because I think it's a book that will only get better with rereads.
