I thoroughly enjoyed these books (which is rough cause it makes me want to order the Faecrate opus editions that are coming out). I love the idea of a world in which dissolving bonds is an option and what could come of it and I believe the topic was handled really well. It was such a treat watching Juno heal and learn to love and trust her new pack and I loved watching the connections with each member grow. I never felt like one relationship wasn't as established as another which is something I find happens to often in books with polyamorous relationships.

There were a couple of things throughout the book that threw me off which is why I couldn't rate this book as highly as the first. I don't know what it was but some of the dialogue and interaction felt... cringier (for lack of a better word) in this book. I would be reading and all of a sudden the dialogue would completely take me out of it and I wouldn't zone back in properly until the end of the scene.

I also feel like the relationship between Juno and Isaac (or lack thereof) didn't fully make sense. I would have absolutely loved their slow burn if I had understood why they were slowly burning to begin with. The only reason for the delay I can think of was the fact that on their first date, they said they didn't hold those feelings for one another. That doesn't fully make sense to me as it was already established with Everette that characters don't need to immediately be attracted in order to reevaluate their feelings as they grow. I feel like the payoff would have been so much more satisfying if there had been an actual reason for them taking so long. I mean, maybe I missed it but I don't think so.

Despite any issues I have (which are 100% rooted in personal preference) I really love this world and I'm excited to see Hazel's story in the next book.
