How To Summon A Boyfriend by Aja Foxx
5.0
Over already??? Ahhhhhh. I was enjoying that so bad. It was so funny and exciting! Herby was to die for! A heart of gold and a no filter mouth with a very creative view of the world. He takes one look at Cerberus and declares him 'cute'. And Hades, an all powerful being, is brought to a standstill by Herby's unwavering oddness and courage/lack of self-preservation. In short order Hades becomes a protective 'alpha' teddy bear and I loved every minute!
Not only was this book funny, but it was such an amazing mix of mythos. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to the pantheon and other mythos and I'm just amazed at how much I loved this crazy mesh of demonology, greek and norse mythos.
This book kept me on my toes plot wise too. I went in thinking this would be a demonic spin on the fake boyfriend troupe. That lasted about 5 minutes! This book kept careening through space and smashing through my expectations. If I had to name a flaw it would be being too short! I wanted more of everything. Not enough! This better be the start of a trilogy! I want Poseidon and Zeus to have their own books too!!
