Feeling Sorry for Celia by Jaclyn Moriarty

5.0

This book is written entirely through letter form and chronicles the life of Elizabeth Clarry. Elizabeth tries to deal with life after her best friend, Celia runs away. Elizabeth also gets her first boyfriend and deals with her dysfunctional family life.

The book was widely creative. I enjoyed a lot of the made-up letters Elizabeth received (like from the Society of Teenagers). The book did a great job of showing Elizabeth’s personality and voice. It was a unique way to write a story and it is sure to capture the attention of teenage girls, but I think a lot of adults would enjoy reading it as well.
