Overlong in places and not really "told in the style of LOTR" as some describe it, more like an extended the extended Silmarillion section it truly is. Some sections lifted pretty much unemnellished from The Silmarillion, not really criticism given the genesis of the text, but worth expecting. Still a great story, if frustratingly told.
