Honestly, this was a disappointment. I almost DNF-ed for the second time but I pushed through. I don't regret it because I wanted to have context for the next book in the series and the last one I'll read.

The pacing was way too rushed and odd. This is the one thing I always dislike from AH books. I just can't turn my brain off because a lot of this doesn't read naturally. I wasn't into MCs having sex in the first 30 pages. That was unnecessary and frankly, it took me out.

Also, Jules felt like a stupid character to me. It's a pity because I liked him in the rest of the books, but here? He's annoying, childish, a liar, and very naive to the point of stupidity. I honestly felt bad for Liam the whole time. I wouldn't have minded much it if he at least was honest with his brother, but he truly did him dirty until the end. I honestly didn't care for the alpha MC either.

The couple didn't have much chemistry, it felt more instalust than anything and I hate that trope. Why did I push trough? Because I thought it would get better but it didn't. I also wasn't into the whole 'brat' thing. This book gave me a lot of second-hand embarrassment. I couldn't take it seriously. The banter made me cringe.

The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars, actually a 1.5 for me, is because it was engaging and easy to read, plus the idea of falling for your brother's soon-to-be husband is interesting, sadly the execution failed. The couple were very insufferable. Poor Liam. I don't even care for him that much (my favorite brother is Eric), but it says a lot about me liking him the best out of the cast here. I hope the next one is better.
