If you enjoy nature writing, read this book! It is well-written, interesting, and informative. I listened to the audio and it was great (read by the author, who did an excellent job), but sometimes the Russian names were a challenge. It would have been nice to have a cheat sheet. I enjoyed learning some Russian geography and culture in addition to learning ornithology field work and about these amazing owls.
