After her exile to the mortal world by Cardan, the High King and Jude's husband, Jude is angry and ashamed and unwilling to adjust to life in the mortal world. When Taryn arrives in the mortal world with the perfect excuse for Jude to return to Faerie, she takes the chance and is quickly caught back up into the scheming of the courts and her adoptive father, Madoc.

I enjoyed the unexpected twists in this conclusion to The Folk of the Air trilogy. The tension between Jude and Cardan was perfect, and I loved seeing both of them develop as characters over the course of the book. Overall, there was less violence (which was what turned me off of the first book in this series) and a heavier focus on the court intrigue and strategy, which I find more interesting. I also liked some of the character additions in this book, like Grima Mog and Fand. Overall it was a satisfying ending for the trilogy!

Happy ending meter (no specific spoilers, just my judgement of how happy the ending is because I always wish someone would tell me this before I read books):
Definitely a happy ending! It was hopeful and showed character development for basically all of the main characters, which I appreciated.
