Manufacturing Happy Citizens: How the Science and Industry of Happiness Control our Lives by Eva Illouz, Edgar Cabanas

4.0

Ok more a 3.5 and even 3 at times, although also had 4 start quality parts. Alot of the premise is what I've already known and suspected but there was also additional, rich info. I did, however, feel it focused a bit too much on neoliberalism as the injustice; nonetheless, in some considerable depth. A bit more breath would have been nice. Also they didn't critically look into the neoliberal ties of wellbeing (both as a concept and in definition) or of how it's been used excessively by positive psychologist as if it's their own idea and creation. Still a very good read and recommendation considering the current climate.
