The Diplomat's Wife by Pam Jenoff
4.0
The Diplomat's Wife follows the heartbreaking story of Martha, the best friend of the protagonist of the previous novel "The Kommadant's Girl. Martha falls in love with an American G.I., Paul, after being rescued from a concentration camp and they vow to meet in London to get married and start a life together. Paul dies in a plane crash on his way to meet Martha and Martha is left on her own pregnant trying to figure out what to do next with her life. She meets a British diplomat and begins working with him and marries him. The British government believes there is a mole leaking information of agents and look to Martha to reconnect to people of her past which will help them figure out who the mole is. The story is incredibly heartbreaking, moving, full of suspense, mystery, surprises. I found myself gasping, screaming and crying on several occasions. I highly recommend this book.
