I am not sure if what makes this book the worst-rated (not to say most-hated) Secret Project is that the others who read it came in with different expectations based on their previous Brandon Sanderson reads or something else, but I enjoyed Brandon's writing throughout this book and the core message of the story: that we should not let other's view of us define us and bring us down. This is a warm story about a guy landing in a strange land and trying to figure out his past and who he is... or rather building a new and better self. The story is not set in Cosmere, but in a slightly magical dimension, where I found the contrast between the humor in the story and the serious topics that were covered quite entertaining. For me, this is a 5/5 star read.
