A Week of Mondays by Jessica Brody

4.0

I really liked this one! I’ve read two other books by Jessica Brody, and this is my favorite so far. I’ve always loved the Groundhog Day trope so this was right up my alley. I’m definitely beyond my high school years now, but my younger self could relate to the concept of losing yourself in a relationship and hiding who you are to keep a boy. This trope is a tough one to do well in books because it can feel very drawn out and tedious, but I think Brody did it well here. Going in, we already know how many Mondays there will be (thank you, title), and she does a good job at keeping them fresh and not feeling too repetitive. As the book went on, I found myself liking Ellie more, which is perfect because you don’t get a sense of who Ellie is right from the start. Our understanding of Ellie grows alongside Ellie’s willingness to be herself. I recommend this one to anyone who loves the concept of repeating a day until you get it just right. It’s a sweet, fun high school romantic comedy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
