This book was so sweet. In the end, I loved both the MMC and FMC, though I wish we’d gotten dual POV (even if just a little) to see some of Adam’s feelings. But this book got the timing of this relationship right (despite the third act breakup). And shout out to the author for actively sending them to therapy and making them better for each other through it. 👏🏼

Honestly, at the beginning I wasn’t sure I would like this book. First, the FMC was a bit whiny, but, as you learned more about her, this became less of an issue. Second, the MMC started off seeming like a bit of a dick. And that’s so frustrating to read. He’s not, and you’re def charmed by him, but it takes a little bit. Finally, there’s some Dear Evan Hansen vibes here. And if you’re not a theater kid, the playing out being something you’re not in the wake someone else’s death is never a good idea. And often it’s just selfish. Don’t do it.

Mixed bag of emotions but the last 5 chapters really sealed the deal for me.
